WORK DONE SINCE 2008 SURVEY – ‘SPIRIT OF LUNDY’ – ATLANTIC 40 KETCH
HULL – antifouling stripped to gelcoat, coated with epoxy and Copperplus antifouling, since primed and antifouled.
RUDDER – re-sealed to reduce water ingress.
BOW THRUSTER – antifouling cleaned to give clearance, no electrical fault evident in use.
STERN TUBE – hose and gland checked, jubilee clips replaced.
SKIN FITTINGS – all checked, some replaced with bronze fittings.
DECK – rusty components removed, Treadmaster removed ready for replacement.
HATCHES – forehatch and lazerette hatches rebuilt.
WINDSCREEN AND WINDOWS – windscreen opening centre section replaced, sliding ports removed, re-anodised and rebuilt with new seals and fastenings.
EXTERNAL WOODWORK – bulwark capping damaged areas removed and replaced, all refurbished and varnished.
DECK FITTINGS – stanchion fastenings replaced, davits removed and new pushpit fitted.
WINDLASS – rebuilt in 2009
MAST – main boom replaced with slab-reefing.
RIGGING – some running rigging replaced, rope purchased ready to replace halliards, etc.
SAILS – genoa, main and mizzen all replaced with good second-hand white sails with boom covers and lazy-jacks.
ENGINE – checked over by qualified engineer, Jabsco saltwater pump rebuilt with new seals and impeller.
STEERING – emergency tiller tested, stored in lazerette.
INTERNAL STRUCTURE – distortion monitored, chain locker extended to allow chain stowage.
INTERNAL FITTINGS – internal upholstery re-covered, new curtains fitted.
VENTILATION – Lewmar hatch fitted over galley, solar extraction fans fitted to fore-hatch and lazerette hatch.
SEA TOILETS – tested afloat, pumps serviced.
SEACOCKS – all checked, some replaced, serviced and new clips fitted.
FRESH WATER – new faucets fitted to galley and basins.
GAS INSTALLATION – gas bottles removed to new gas locker within lazerette with drain overboard, new flexible hoses fitted, system checked.
ELECTRICS – all batteries replaced, alternators rebuilt, faults traced as evidenced, shore power checked, new 240/24 volt 25 amp charger fitted, new 24/12volt transformer fitted.
BILGE PUMP – new electric bilge pump fitted.
FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT – 4 dry powder extinguishers fitted, new automatic extinguisher fitted in engine bay.
EQUIPMENT –
- Icom IC-M80 VHF radio – replaced.
- Icom IC-728 HF transceiver – removed
- Hydrovane wind vane self-steering – removed
- Cockpit canopy – replaced
- Liferaft – serviced 2010
- Dinghy and outboard – removed
